Michele Smallwood, Esq.
Michele is an attorney and has volunteered for the Center since its inception. Her decision to step up and lead us into the future has excited us to no end! She lives in Panama City with her wife and daughter where they love spending time at home with their three dogs!
Emily is a transgender woman and a Panama City Fire Captain. She is an avid and zealous advocate for transgender and general LGBTQ+ rights. She has recently found herself public speaking regularly about transgender/LGBTQ+ rights, so please feel free to reach out to her about the many topics she can address.
Kelley obtained her Associates Degree in Registered Nursing in 1991. She has worked in both the psychiatric and geriatric fields. Kelley is a wife and mother of 3. She considers herself a "professional" volunteer and serves as the Gay/Straight Alliance Liaison for the Center.
She has been volunteering with the LGBTQ+ Center of Bay County since its inception.
Trisha has volunteered for the Center since its inception. Trisha works in the banking industry and brings her skillset to our Center! Trisha and her daughter spearheaded organizing the 70+ vendors we had attend last year's pride event, their organizational skills are unmatched! Trisha's daughter came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in highschool and she's been an advocate ever since!
Laura Connors is a Panama City native, graduating from Rutherford High School and only leaving for a brief time to live in Birmingham and attend UAB. She is married with two amazing daughters. Laura has worked at Edward Jones for 18+ years and is a Senior Branch Office Administrator.
Pamm Chapman was elected to the BDS School Board in 2018 and also serves as the Vice-Chair. She was born and raised in Bay County. Pamm completed an AA degree from Gulf Coast Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University. She has served on many civic and community organizations. She is a past president of the Junior League and has also served on the Bay Medical Foundation, Gulf Coast State College Foundation, and the Junior Museum Board. Currently, Pamm is a board member for the Bay Education Foundation and the Tom P. Haney Foundation and is also serving on the Community Health Task Force for Bay County. She has enjoyed working with students and faculty over the years serving many terms as an officer for the MAPPS program and Mosley SAC Board, a Mosley Cheer Coach, a mentor with the Take Stock in Children Program and a substitute teacher with the district. Pamm is a member of The Northwest Florida Tennis Association and a group fitness instructor at Sequence Gym. She is married to Joey Chapman and has three children; Joseph, Nathan, and Elizabeth who all graduated from Bay District Schools.
Cherie has lived in Bay County since 2016. She moved here after leaving her job at a Fortune 10 company in Atlanta. She graduated from Texas Tech University with her BA in Management and MBA in General Business. Cherie is an activist for equality rights, diversity and inclusion within all businesses and the community. Cherie is CEO and Founder of Be Kind to All LLC who believes every person is Equal and deserves to be treated as Equal and Discrimination can no longer be allowed within any business for any reason.
